Seda Davran was born in Istanbul in 1979. She completed her middle and high school education at F.M.V. Private Işık High School Nişantaşı Campus in 1997. She began her architectural studies at Istanbul Technical University in 1998 and graduated in 2003. In addition to her bachelor’s degree in architecture, she participated in acting, costume and set design with the theater communities at ITU and Yıldız Technical University. Between 2003 and 2004, she worked as an editor, first at Portfolyo Architecture Magazine and then at Arkitera Architecture Center. In 2004, she started her master’s degree in the Architectural Design Department at ITU Faculty of Architecture. During her master’s studies, she continued her design education for one year at Sint-Lucas College in Brussels as part of the Erasmus student exchange program. In 2007, she was awarded the title of M.Sc. in Architecture with her thesis titled “Architecture as Popular Culture.” From 2004 to 2010, she worked in various architecture offices, carrying out architectural designs and construction site supervision for large-scale projects such as hotels, residences, and university campuses. In 2010, she founded her own firm, Seda Davran Mimarlık, where she began providing architectural design, site practices, and consultancy services. Married and a mother of one, Seda Davran has also been a part-time faculty member at FMV Işık University since 2022, teaching project and construction courses to students in the English Interior Architecture Department of the Faculty of Art, Design, and Architecture.
